Privacy policy

TallyTot (“we”) is operated by CGHM Associates LLC. This policy covers the TallyTot apps for iPhone, Android and the web, and tallytot.com. The short version: we collect what’s needed to keep your baby log in sync between your family’s devices, nothing more. We show no ads, and we never sell or share your data for advertising.

What we collect

• A simple account. When you open TallyTot we create an account for you, identified by a random token stored on your device. All we ask for is a first name or nickname and a caregiver label (like “Dad”). No email, phone number or password is needed.
• Your family and baby. Your baby’s name, birth date, and optionally sex and birth weight. Also the labels you give caregivers (like “Mom” or “Grandma”).
• What you log. Feeds, diapers, sleep, pumping, solids, growth, medicine, temperature, notes and milestones. Each entry is tagged with who logged it. If you added early-month estimates, we store those too.
• Email (optional). Only if you choose to sign in with email, so we can send login codes.
• Basic usage events. For example, that a family was created or a recap was shared. We use these to understand what’s working. We don’t use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
• Purchases (if offered). Payments are handled by Stripe or the app stores. We never see your full card number.

What stays on your phone

Photos you add to templates and monthly series stay on your device and are never uploaded. Reminders are scheduled on your device.

Things you choose to share

• Recap links. When you tap “Send the link to family”, we store a snapshot of that recap: your baby’s first name, the stats shown, and caregiver labels. Anyone with the link can view it. Links are hidden from search engines, and you can turn yours off in the app at any time.
• Recap videos. To export a video, your phone uploads the recap’s card images and we combine them into a video. The images and the video are deleted automatically within 2 days.
• Images you share to Instagram, TikTok, Messages and similar apps go directly from your device to that app. Those apps’ own policies apply.

Who can see your data

Only the members of your family (people who joined with your invite code) can see your baby’s log. Our small team can access the database to run the service, fix problems and answer support requests. We use these service providers:

• DigitalOcean (servers and encrypted backups, US)
• Resend (login-code email, if you use it)
• Stripe (payments, if offered)
• Expo (app updates)

We don’t sell personal information. We don’t share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Security and retention

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Database backups are kept for up to 30 days. We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your data, it’s removed from the live database right away and from backups as they expire.

Deleting your data

In the app, go to Family → Delete my account and data. Your account is deleted immediately. If you’re the last member of your family, your baby’s log, estimates, invite codes, recap link and videos are deleted too. If others are still in the family, the shared log stays for them. You can also email hello@tallytot.com and we’ll do it for you. We also honour access and correction requests sent to the same address.

Children

TallyTot is meant for parents and caregivers aged 18 and over. Information about your baby is entered by you, a parent or caregiver, to keep your own records. We don’t knowingly let children under 13 create accounts.

Health information

TallyTot is a record-keeping tool, not a medical device. Feeding, diaper, sleep and growth logs are health-related, so we treat them as sensitive. We only use them to provide the app and your summaries and recaps.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example California, or the EU/UK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Email us and we’ll respond within 30 days. We process your data to provide the service you asked for.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above. For significant changes, we’ll also tell you in the app.
